Chris, 58, joined The One Show hosts Alex Jones, 43, and Amol Rajan, 36, tonight for this week’s fourth edition of the BBC magazine programme. Due to the current lockdown measures with regards to the coronavirus pandemic, the wildlife presenter spoke via a video link from his very own garden. However, it was clear there were a few technical difficulties and this led viewers to become very distracted by his appearance.
Although the image was quite pixelated, Chris could be seen sitting in an outdoor setting in his iconic green puffer jacket.
With better and sunnier weather forecast for this weekend, the wildlife presenter wanted to give viewers some tips on how they could make the most of their gardens instead of going against Government guidelines.
Much like former host Matt Baker’s, 42, link up from his home, the picture quality wasn’t great, but viewers seemed to excuse the technical difficulties.
However this evening, those watching at home became distracted by the guest’s appearance and wondered what had happened to distort the picture.

One wrote on Twitter: “@ChrisGPackham Have you considered a WiFi extender for the garden? #TheOneShow #BBCone.”
Another added on the social media platform: “B***** hell where does Chris Packham live, 1999 #dialup #theoneshow.”
Whilst a third commented: “F*** me! Chris Packham’s still on dial up! #TheOneShow,” a fourth remarked: “#TheOneShow That’s one s*** wifi connection Chris.”
“If I had a pound for every pixel in @ChrisGPackham webcam….. I’d have 7 pounds. #TheOneShow,” a fifth quipped.
“We know nature can provide us with a natural cure for some of our mental health problems,” the presenter continued.
“We’re all under tremendous stress at the moment, suffering anxiety.
“So, if you can get out into your garden and just connect with that bird song, it can enliven your day, lift your spirits, connect you with nature and give you a great sense of wellbeing.
“And, it’s not just the birds swell the butterflies have been active, the bumblebees have been out and plenty of spring flowers are busting their buds.”
The One Show guest added: “Connecting with nature like this really does provide us with some solace at this time when we’re desperately in need of it.”
Chris explained the opportune time for people to hear the birdsong in the morning would be between 8:30am and 9am.
Although the guests come and go, Alex is still remaining a firm fixture on the show following Matt’s exit earlier this week.
Tomorrow, she will once again be joined by Amol to talk more about how members of the public are dealing with the coronavirus crisis across the UK.
The One Show airs weeknights at 7pm on BBC One.
