The One Show cancelled: BBC show taken off air in schedule shake-up

The One Show airs on BBC One on weekdays at 7pm but today Alex Jones will be missing from her usual evening slot. The magazine show has been taken off air to make way for a special tribute to Prince Philip which will see Huw Edwards present live coverage from Windsor Castle ahead of his funeral tomorrow.

Alex has been joined by Rylan Clark-Neal this week and the pair announced the schedule shake-up on yesterday’s show.

Rylan said: “We are not here tomorrow instead there’s going to be a special programme with Huw Edwards live from Windsor Castle focussing on Prince Philip’s upcoming funeral.”

“We’ll be back on Monday where we’ll be joined by Sir Elton John and Brit Award nominee Rina Sawayama,” Alex added.

HRH The Duke of Edinburgh Remembered will air on BBC One tonight at 7pm.

Sir David Attenborough, Baroness Scotland, Alan Titchmarsh and Baroness Grey-Thompson will be just some of the guests joining Huw.

Meanwhile, The One Show’s Alex was left red-faced earlier in the week when Rylan called out her wardrobe choice.

Alex began: “Hello there and welcome to your Wednesday’s The One Show with Rylan Clark-Neal.”

“And the lovely Alex Jones,” Rylan added. “Oh, you’ve got on the pink trousers today I like them.”

The One Show presenter pointed out she had comfort in mind when she picked out her outfit: “Elasticated waist.”

“You can’t go wrong,” Rylan chuckled. “It happens to us all, all the time, doesn’t it?”

“(They’re) like pyjamas,” a red-faced Alex commented.

But her co-host reassured Alex he was a fan as he remarked: ”That is a cute outfit.”

The One Show airs on weekdays on BBC One at 7pm.
