Quite frankly, we’re still in mourning after The OA was cancelled following season two’s ridiculously gripping cliffhanger.

And just to add salt to the wound, Jason Isaacs has now revealed that the plot for season three was ‘utterly brilliant’.

Why, Netflix, WHY?

The drama follows Brit Marling as Prairie Johnson, a woman who returns to society seven years after she went missing.

Now going by the name The OA, or Original Angel, Prairie reveals that she was in another dimension and recruits a small team to help rescue other people who have disappeared.

Instead of neatly tying up all the plotlines however, the end of season two saw another dimension of reality opened.

While we’re over here brimming with questions, Jason – who played Brit’s husband Hap – has admitted his ‘jaw was hanging open’ when the creators explained season three to him.

‘I knew exactly where the third season was going to go, and it’s utterly brilliant,’ he told Collider.

The actor admitted he thought the season two ending was ‘nuts’ and asked creators Brit Marling and  Zal Batmanglij what they ‘could possibly do afterwards’.

Turns out the creators had actually planned all five seasons (Picture: Netflix)

He went on: ‘So, they sat me down and told me, and 15 minutes later, my jaw was hanging open. I just couldn’t wait to get started making it.’

Jason added that he was ‘sad’ the show was cancelled because he was ‘dying’ to see the other seasons.

Oh, that’s right – the Harry Potter let slip that actually, bosses had planned all five seasons.

‘Yeah, they mapped out all five seasons, when they pitched it, originally. They wrote the whole first season on spec, and it took two years to write it,’ he revealed.

We can’t. We actually can’t.

Fans are absolutely fuming about the cancellation and have done everything from online petitions to hunger strikes and flash mobs in a bid to get the series up and running again.
