It won’t be returning until 2020
The next series of Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul has been delayed, with the show’s makers announcing that the show will now not return until 2020.
AMC President Sarah Barnett has revealed that the fifth season of Vince Gilligan’s show won’t return until at least 2020.
Speaking about the delay to Vulture, Barnett said: “It’s driven by talent needs, which we would not override if it would result in a worse show.”
Barnett joked: “We know clearly the end was already written before the beginning began” before adding: “The writers, they have a very particular, very clear sense of the arc of their show…We’re certainly getting closer to it.”

The delay may also be linked to work on the Breaking Bad movie which Brian Cranston confirmed creator Vince Gilligan was working on last year. Breaking Bad ran for five seasons, premiering in 2008 and reaching its finale in 2013.
Last year, Gilligan revealed that he “desperately” wants to reunite Walter White and Jesse Pinkman on Better Call Saul.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly to mark Breaking Bad’s 10th anniversary, Gilliagn said: “I desperately want to see both of them on Better Call Saul. Peter [Gould] wants it, the writers do, the actors do.”
“I think we’ve waited long enough. We damn well better have a good reason for them to show up. I just hope we figure it out because I’ve got to hear, ‘Yeah, bitch!’ one more time.”
