The most spectacular hats at Royal Ascot 2019

When it comes to race day style, no outfit is complete without a head-turning hat, especially at Royal Ascot.

A fabulous piece of headgear is not only a mandatory requirement, according to the Royal Ascot dress code, but a chance for racegoers to push the sartorial boundaries with their accessories. 

This year’s hats have not disappointed. Creative and brilliantly over the top designs have been making their way through the gates since doors opened at the Berkshire racecourse on Tuesday. 

From opulent feather designs to artistic bee, butterfly and horse-inspired hats, this season’s millinery has taken its cue from the great outdoors. 

A more wearable way of celebrating Mother Nature was demonstrated by royals, including Kate Middleton and the Queen, who opted for statement flower adornments.
