The Masked Singer looks set to be returning for a second series and we couldn’t happier about it.

The new ITV competition show kicked off in the UK earlier this month and smashed viewing figures with its first episode peaking with an impressive 6.65million people turning in to watch undercover celebrities sing their hearts out while dressed up in extravagant costumes.

And now sources have claimed that bosses have said it was a ‘no-brainer to go for a second series’.

‘It’s had the whole country talking. People either love it or hate it but everyone seems to have an opinion on it,’ they said.

The insider continued to the Mirror: ‘After some high-level meetings, everything was agreed and now a second series is definitely happening.’

ITV declined to comment.

Last night’s episode of The Masked Singer saw R&B superstar Kelis unmasked as Daisy.

‘People have just been telling me my voice was distinct,’ Kelis said after the stunning reveal. ‘I thought I would give it a go.’

Meanwhile, viewers are convinced that Glee star Chris Colfer is underneath the Unicorn.

There were certain clues that were dropped in both the VT and the performance, but the main takeaways were that the celeb behind the mask also dabbled in writing.

Aside from his work on the hit musical TV show, Chris is also known as an author, his fantasy series The Land Of Stories became a best-seller on the New York Times book charts.

Sarah Jessica Parker’s name was also dropped – and we’re happy to confirm that the Sex and City actress also guest-starred on Glee during its fourth season. Chris also wrote an episode of Glee too, so there we have it!

The Masked Singer continues on Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
