The Masked Singer on FOX: Rhino to be 'unmasked' as former NFL star

Rhino has made it to the final nine on The Masked Singer USA, joining the likes of Night Angel, Kitty and many more in finals. Guesses have been pouring in from Fox viewers all series long as to who is behind the Rhino mask but now fans think they’ve worked it out once and for all following his third performance on the show.

Guesses as to who Rhino could be have varied from the genius to the downright weird.

Some The Masked Singer fans are certain it is WWE star Jeff Hardy under the mask.

While other Fox viewers think all the clues point towards Grease legend and Hollywood A-lister John Travolta or MLB legend Barry Zito.

However, there’s one man whose name has recently popped into the debate and it’s got plenty of back – Tony Gonzales.

The former NFL star is being tipped by many to be the one performing behind the mask.

One fan raised the possible candidate on Reddit’s “Season 3, Episode 9 DISCUSSION” thread.

Following the fresh batch of clues, they said: “Rhino is Tony Gonzalez. Played in Missouri, went to Cal for college where he could surf.” (sic)

It didn’t take long for the theory to gain backing, with another Reddit user replying: “Dude that was my guess. Could be him.”

Moments after T-Rex was revealed to be the unlucky act going home, the show appeared to be slightly derailed.

T-Rex appeared to be having problems removing her headpiece, resulting in a member of production walking on-stage.

The producer even appeared to yell cut but the cameras continued to roll, prompting a comment from guest judge Will.

The fact The Masked Singer decided to air the apparent blunder resulted in several Reddit users asking: “Does anyone know what happened with the weird cut and Will’s voice over after T-Rex lost tonight?”

However, others weighed in with possible reasons as to why the show looked slightly out of sync.

One suggested: “I think that’s a normal part of filming they usually cut, but kept in because Will was being funny.”

A second weighed in: “Yeah, my guess is it was during the time they clear the audience out.

“And the producer was probably giving her some instructions on how the next part was going to go. But Will made a joke and they had time to fill so they cut it in.” (sic)

The Masked Singer USA continues every Wednesday on Fox.
