The Masked Singer: Nicola Roberts knew Monster's identity after backstage blunder


The finale of The Masked Singer saw Hedgehog, Octopus and Queen Bee compete to be crowned the winner of the reality show, which saw celebrities sing for the judges as they guessed who was really behind the mask. Winner Nicola Roberts who was behind Queen Bee has now revealed some backstage secrets and even though no one was meant to know who they were competing against, Nicola went undercover and worked out who Monster was.

Viewers were on the edge of their seats on Saturday as Hedgehog, Octopus and Queen Bee were finally unmasked. 

Comedian Jason Manford was behind Hedgehog, singer Katherine Jenkins was behind Octopus and Queen Bee was Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts who was crowned the winner after two months of the ITV show. 

The star has now revealed what the show was really like and who he thought was behind the other masks. 

Talking to press including Express.co.uk, Nicola explained: “It’s just so liberating and freeing in the sense that when you perform normally it’s like, ‘what am I gonna wear? How does my hair look? Is my makeup right?’.

It seems Nicola was more comfortable in the mask and costume than viewers might have thought. 

She revealed: “I was actually nervous to take the mask off because I was like, are people going to be happy?”

On Saturday when she was unmasked she told the judges: “I loved it. I mean guys it’s piping hot in there.

“But when you’re singing such big songs your face is doing the wildest things to get the notes out.

“So I was thankful for the mask because god knows what I would have looked like.”
