Each episode takes on a new visual style, and brings it home with flawless design and art style.
The biggest aspect of the show – still – is Midge’s relationships with various members of her friends and family.
Susie is still her number one fan and supporter, but now her time is split between both Midge and her brand new act: Sophie Lennon (Jane Lynch).
But, as expected, Sophie is determined to bring Susie’s life to a screaming halt, and therefore wreak havoc in Midge’s life.
On the plus side, however, Midge seems to be making progress with her estranged ex-husband Joel Maisel (Michael Zegen).
But, as his life is continuing without Midge back in New York, he seems to be moving on in more ways than one, and, in some ways, leaving Midge behind.
The tense yet passionate relationship between Midge and Joel is focused on quite a bit through the first half of the season.
