In some much needed good TV news, Disney bosses have confirmed that the second season of The Mandalorian won’t be delayed.

Unlike many other TV productions which have seen plans completely disrupted by the unprecedented coronavirus pandemic, the Disney+ series is able to move forward as planned.

Speaking to CNBC, Disney’s new CEO Bob Chapek confirmed it is still on track for its release in October.

He explained that actual filming wrapped before Covid-19 hit, and there’s nothing stopping post-production effects and additions being added on time for the planned air date.

He also explained that post-production will continue on other shows to keep Disney+ releasing new content, and that pre-production on other projects can go on in the current situation.

This comes after the show’s star Pedro Pascal told GQ that he had been able to complete filming for the second series of the ‘Star Wars’ spin-off.

But we still have to wait until October for more Baby Yoda (Picture: )

Pedro – who plays the titular masked bounty hunter in the series – said: ‘We wrapped early March, so just before the s*** started hitting the fan.’

Revealing that his favourite about playing The Mandalorian is the character’s sense of mystery, he added: ‘I liked the idea of the challenge of creating a central character that is compelling without a face.’

When you consider the fact work on the script for season three has already tentatively started, it seems safe to assume that all will be done to keep the show on the road.

The Mandalorian is available now on Disney Plus.
