The Mandalorian creator and showrunner, Jon Favreau, has been teasing the pre-production for season two of the Star Wars spin-off for the past month.

But there had been no official word about the show’s fate on Disney+, until this afternoon.

Favreau announced to his 2.9million Twitter followers that The Mandalorian will be getting a second season, but fans are going to have to wait a while.

The second season is set to air on Disney+ at some point during the Fall of 2020.

Many fans are treating this as a clue and that Favreau may be looking to explore diverse realms of the Star Wars universe in season two.

In the wake of all the excitement and questions, the official Twitter account for Disney+ retweeted and replied to Favreau: ‘Jon has spoken’

It only added to the hoopla on social media.

The show centers around Mando, an intergalactic bounty hunter who is merely looking for a means to an end since not many of his kind are left.

By chance, Mando takes on the task of tracking down a piece of ‘precious cargo’ for members of the now fallen Empire.

Many blasts and kicks to the gut later, Mando finally comes face to face with his bounty, which happens to be nothing more than a small, green ‘child.’

Mando struggles whether to turn over the bounty, claim his prize, and never look back, or protect the life of the young, powerful asset.

The first episode of the Mandalorian aired on November 12th of this year.

It stars Game Of Thrones’ own Pedro Pascal as the title role, along with the iconic faces – and voices – of actors Carl Weathers, Nick Nolte, and more.

But for many fans and casual viewers, alike, the most memorable aspect of the 8-episode first season was their introduction to the one and only: Baby Yoda aka The Child.

The Mandalorian was responsible for spawning the biggest – and most precious – cultural phenomenon of 2019 and it is to be expected that with the addition of season two, the heart will only grow fonder…all the way until the Fall of 2020.
