The Longest Road On Earth video game wins the award for the best Basque video game, one of the two FSPLAY awards to which was nominated at the Fun & Serious Game Festival that took place at the Bilbao Exhibition Center (BEC) from December 6th to 9th.

The Longest Road On Earth team headed by Arturo Monedero was eligible for two FSPLAY awards as the best Basque videogame and most innovative videogame.

The entire team took the stage to collect the prize and Arturo Monedero addressed some emotional words to the audience, thanking it for the acknowledge of this video game.

The Longest Road On Earth makes the player reflect on everyday actions and borders, both physical and emotional that we face on a daily basis. Through this interactive experience, we will live as different characters who will transmit their own stories. All this accompanied by an intimate soundtrack, a black and white pixel art that helps us immerse ourselves in a unique world to discover.

The Longest Road On Earth continues its Kickstarter campaign to finance the development of this project, a commitment to a different and thoughtful videogame, against the current fashions of the sector.

Behind this original experience, we find four creative minds that gather loads of years of experience:

Edu Verz (game design, art, and programming): He is an independent game developer, working on video games since 2013. He started creating games at Brainwash Gang, and released titles like Nongünz (2017) and working on future games such as Damnview: Built from Nothing, Laika: Aged through blood, and Grotto, along with his partners Beícoli and Mohammed Bakir.

Beícoli (music writing and singing): She is a songwriter, singer and game developer since 2015. She also produces her own music for each video game with a unique style.

Mohammed Bakir (environment art and animation): Also part of Brainwash Games, he has been dedicated to pixel art and animation since 2008. He’s also dedicated to education.

Arturo Monedero (game production): he has been working in game development for 14 years. He released games such as The Rivers of Alice, that was awarded “The Best of the Year” by Apple and The Delusions of Von Sottendorff and his Square Mind, which was part of Indiecade’s showcase, as Creative Director at Delirium Studios. Apart from game development, he’s also been dedicated to education and mentoring.
