As most people are stuck indoors for the foreseeable future due to the coronavirus pandemic, finding new things to watch online or on DVD is incredibly important. The Lighthouse amazed critics upon its release and many are keen to see to film from the comfort of their own homes.

Is the Lighthouse available to stream online?
Luckily for American fans of The Lighthouse, the film will be made available to rent and download online on Amazon Prime.
Fans will not have to wait too long for this, as it will be released on April 16.
The film will also be available to buy online at the streaming-service.
There is no news on if The Lighthouse will be made available on other streaming sites, or when the UK release date for streaming will be.
Other than this, any website claiming to have the film for streaming or download is illegal.
The Digital Economy Act 2017 means people could now face ten-year prison sentences for illegally streaming copyrighted content.
To be sure you’re not watching copyrighted material, you should go directly to companies such as Amazon Prime, according to FACT (Federation Against Copyright Theft).
To add to this warning, CEO of FACT, Kieron Sharp, said: “There are now more ways than ever for consumers to watch movies and TV but not going to legitimate sources to watch new movies is not a grey area: it is against the law.
“As well as being illegal, evidence shows that streaming pirated content is incredibly risky and can expose users to malware and inappropriate content.
“Not only does that deny the best viewing experience, it’s just not worth taking the chance.”
In terms of a UK release date, this has not yet been announced, meaning fans will have to wait sometime before they can purchase it.
However, it will definitely be released in the UK, and Eggers first film, The Witch, was released just three months after its cinematic release.
As a result, it could be that The Lighthouse, given it came out at the end of January, will be released on DVD at the end of March or beginning of April.
Of course, given how well-liked The Lighthouse was, it may be the film comes out even earlier.
What is The Lighthouse about?
The two actors, Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe, play a pair of lighthouse keepers who find themselves losing their grip on reality as they occupy the isolated island where the lighthouse stands.
It is hard to describe the fullness of the plot without spoiling it, so it is best to keep away from too many plot synopses ahead of seeing the film.
To give a better idea of the film, however, the filmmakers at A24 have released a short explanation, which reads: “From Robert Eggers, the visionary filmmaker behind modern horror masterpiece The Witch, comes this hypnotic and hallucinatory tale of two lighthouse keepers on a remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s.”
