Who are The Killers?

Formed in Las Vegas, The Killers are a four-piece, American rock band led by lead singer Brandon Flowers.

They have been on the music scene since 2004.

Having sold an estimated 22 million records worldwide, The Killers have proven to be one of the most successful rock bands of the 21st Century.

Following the release of their album Wonderful Wonderful, the band are returning to the UK for their latest tour in July 2018.

The Killers were also nominated for Best International Group at the Brit Awards 2018. They won the award in 2017.

When are The Killers performing at Glastonbury, when does it start and what’s the setlist?

An official setlist for The Killers’ upcoming two-hour performance at Glastonbury has remained a secret, but frontman Brandon Flowers did confirm that there won’t be any new music to look forward to.

The band reportedly didn’t have enough time to finish working on fresh material given that they had been on tour and are scheduled to fly to America following their set while gracing the pyramid stage.

According to BristolPost, The Killers’ setlist could very well end up looking like this:

The Man

Spaceman

The Man

Human

Smile Like You Mean It

The Way It Was

Somebody Told Me

All These Things That I’ve Done

Read My Mind

Jenny Was a Friend of Mine

A Dustland Fairytale

When You Were Young

The Way It Was

Mr Brightside

Their performance is expected to commence on June 29 at 9:45pm, with concertgoers able to sing along to songs they all know and love.

What albums have The Killers released?

As well as the hugely successful debut album Hot Fuss, The Killers have released a total of 5 chart-topping albums.

Sam’s Town was released in 2006, and features the single When You Were Young.

Day & Age has more synth-focused records including Human.

Battle Born came out in 2012 with Wonderful Wonderful in 2017.

Why Mr Brightside is still in the UK charts?

Mr Brightside reached No10 in the UK Top 40 Charts.

While it is internationally acclaimed and, arguably, one of the most catchy songs going, it has never been at number 1 in the UK or US.

In March 2018 it achieved its 200th week in the Top 100.

According to British Phonographic Industry, Mr Brightside is the most streamed song of any track released before 2010.

From March 2017-2018 it was the most streamed song of any with a release date before 2010.

The success of the track appears to be down to the fact that it is viewed as an anthem and is popular among ageing millenials.

It was also voted ninth in the Greatest Guitar Riffs of the 21st Century so far by Total Guitar magazine in 2010.

It’s popularity has also been attributed to the band’s tours and it frequently being played at parties.

What other songs have The Killers released?

Somebody Told Me reached number 3 in the UK charts.

Smile Like You Mean It made number 11 with When You Were Young hitting No2.

They also had top 10 hits with Human in 2008.

All These Things That I’ve Done, Read My Mind, Tranquilize and Runaways all made the top 20.

And the band’s single Bones – that was featured on their second album, Sam’s Town – also had a music video directed by Tim Burton.

As a result, the music video won Best Video at the NME Awards in 2007.
