The Hills Reunion Trailer Is Here, And It's Even More Bizarre Than You Would Expect

The Hills are alive…with the sound of Natasha Bedingfield. In case you thought we’d reach peak cultural nostalgia, the Laguna Beach spin-off will return to MTV on June 24. Officially titled The Hills: New Beginnings, it follows the original cast members (minus Lauren Conrad) attempting to navigate adulthood, parenting, and over-the-top fake tans. Audrina Patridge, Heidi Pratt, Whitney Port, and Stephanie Pratt will all back in action alongside Brody Jenner, Frankie Delgado, Jason Wahler, Justin “Bobby” Brescia, and Spencer Pratt (of course). Wahler’s wife Ashley and Jenner’s wife Kaitlynn Carter will also be making appearances. Best of all? In a marriage of the greatest pop cultural hits of the Noughties, The OC’s Mischa Barton will fill the spot left by Conrad – because why not?

Now, the first trailer for the series has finally dropped, and it’s predictably disconcerting to watch. Set to a remixed version of “Unwritten”, it whips through a highlights reel from the original series, from Whitney Port looking pensive at her Teen Vogue desk to Spencer Pratt’s timeless burn, “I’m sorry that you’re making yourself cry.” Then, there’s a glimpse of the older (and wiser?) cast, along with a sneak peak of what’s to come. The main takeaway: the flame between Audrina Partridge and Justin Bobby is about to be rekindled (at least while the cameras are around). A release date for the series in the UK has yet to be confirmed, but start preparing yourself for the inevitable whirlwind of crystal therapy, Pomeranians, and juice cleanses now.
