The creators of The Haunting of Hill House have created a new Netflix series.
And it looks terrifying.
The streaming service has green lit a series order for Midnight Mass, a horror drama which is set to be seven episodes long.
Midnight Mass takes place in an isolated island community, that will begin to witness some sinister and frightening events after a mysterious young priest arrives.
Show creator Matt Flanagan is set to direct, and he will also executive-produce the series with co-creator Trevor Macy.
The pair have previously worked together on other films such as Oculus and Gerald’s Game.
This follows on from the news of Netflix ordering a second season of The Haunting of Hill House, titled The Haunting of Bly Manor.
The new season, which is based on the novel The Turn of the Screw by Henry James, is scheduled for release sometime in 2020.
Victoria Pedretti, who appeared in the first season, will be returning, whilst other cast members have yet to be announced.
The Haunting of Hill House has become a massive success since its premiere back in 2017.
Based on the novel of the same name by Shirley Jackson, the horror focused on five siblings whose paranormal experiences at Hill House continue to haunt them in the present day, whilst featuring flashbacks to the night the family fled the mansion.
The ‘stunning psycho-horror’ has been praised by critics and fans.
Laden with disturbing jump scares, many viewers claimed they felt sick and ‘sleepless with fear’ watching the series unfold.
Midnight Mass is released on Netflix at a later date.
