The first trailer for Wonder Woman has dropped and it's left us feeling empowered AF

It’s set to be *the* blockbuster film of 2020, and now we have our first sneak peek of Gal Gadot reprising her iconic Wonder Woman role.

In the 80s style trailer for Wonder Woman 1984, Gal is seen kicking ass and performing some seriously impressive stunt moves as she returns to the role of Diana Prince. Set to the New Order track, Blue Monday, the trailer shows Gal bonding with Barbara Minerva about past loves. Little do the pair know, Barbara’s former love Steve Trevor is about to become Gal’s new ally.

According to the film’s official synopsis, Wonder Woman 1984 will “fast forward to the 1980s as Wonder Woman’s next big screen adventure finds her facing an all-new foe: The Cheetah.”

Fans have gone wild for the trailer with one Twitter stating “it’s been almost 12 hrs since the trailer came out, and I’ve probably watched it 8967 times already”, while another claimed they ‘couldn’t be happier’ about the upcoming film.

As Gal Gadot takes on the title role, she will be joined by co-stars Kristen Wiig and Chris Pine. Kristen will take on the role of Barbara Minerva and super-villain The Cheetah, whilst Chris Pine stars as Steve Trevor.

As the anticipation rises, fans have also been treated to four posters showing Gal Gadot, Kristin Wiig, Chris Pine and Pedro Pascal in character.

With an incredible cast lined up, we’re predicting the upcoming DC comics sequel will be bigger and better than ever – and it looks like Gal agrees too. “I was so invested even though I shot the whole movie and I read the script a million times and we did it and filmed it for eight whole months,” she said of her first time watching the film. “All of a sudden seeing all the puzzle pieces coming together and seeing this huge, grand … I called Patty crying.”

Bring on the girl power!

Wonder Woman 1984 will be in cinemas on 5 June 2020.
