Filmmaker Rob Cohen has vehemently denied allegations that he sexually abused and drugged actress Asia Argento.

Argento alleges that the Fast and the Furious director abused her and made her drink GHB, a drug which is associated with sex attacks.

However, Cohen, 71, has vehemently denied the claims and a rep said in a statement on his behalf: ‘Mr Cohen categorically denies Asia Argento’s accusation of assault against him as absolutely false.

‘When they worked together, they had an excellent working relationship and Mr Cohen considered her a friend, so this claim dating back to 2002 is bewildering, especially given what has been reported about her in recent years.’

Making her claims in an interview with Italian publication, Il Corriere della Sera, Argento said: ‘He had a bottle of it. At the time, I really didn’t know what it was. I woke up in the morning naked in his bed.’

According to Argento, the assault occurred while they filmed action movie XxX, starring Vin Diesel, in 2002.

The 45-year-old actress also told an Italian TV show on Saturday that she did not come forward before because she ‘did not want to create another storm’.

She repeats the allegations in her new memoir, Anatomy of a Wild Heart, which is due for release in Italy on January 26.

Argento was one of the first to accuse disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct in 2017.

In 2019, Cohen was accused of sexually assaulting his daughter Valkyrie when she was a child, claiming he ‘used [her] body for his own sexual gratification’.

However, the director denied the allegations and said in a statement: ‘This is extremely painful. My beloved child has accused me of the most awful thing imaginable.

‘Knowing that it is categorically untrue is painful enough. Having to write this and saying that my kid is not telling the truth is heart wrenching. I hope and pray that one day, my child will come into the realisation that no matter what anyone says or tries to convince her was the case when she was a child, it is both untrue and unimaginable.’

He concluded the lengthy statement: ‘I will continue to support any son or daughter of mine and encourage them to be their authentic selves.’

Later that year, Cohen denied other allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman when she was unconscious.

Cohen’s lawyer Martin Singer hit back at the claims and said that such allegations were an ‘outrageous, defamatory hit piece’.

Singer said: ‘The proposed story is an outrageous defamatory hit piece, making extraordinarily offensive assertions that my client engaged in heinous sexual misconduct, criminal wrongdoing and other inappropriate behaviour – which are vehemently disputed and denied by my client.’ has contacted Rob Cohen’s reps for comment.
