The dreamiest Airbnbs in Cornwall that still have some late-summer availability

While our passports might be back in the sock drawer again as the list of countries that require us to quarantine when we return changes weekly, there’s no better time to check out what’s on our own doorstep.

The UK is full of incredible, catch-your-breath stunning locations and Cornwall is one of them. It’s the county on England’s rugged southwestern tip, forming a peninsula teeming with wild moorland and hundreds of long, sandy beaches and hidden coves (if you’ve ever watched Poldark, you’ll know EXACTLY where we’re coming from).

The south coast, dubbed the Cornish Riviera, is home to picturesque harbour villages such as St Mawes, Fowey and Falmouth. The north coast is lined with towering cliffs and seaside resorts like Newquay, St Ives and Polzeath. Spend your days ambling along the stunning South West coastal paths, past old mines and through hidden beaches, or day-tripping to National Trust beauties like the exotic gardens of Tresslick or the rocky island of St Michael’s Mount, where you get a boat across to its towering medieval castle.

If you fancy travelling further, there’s the lesser-known Isles of Scilly, a car-free archipelago off the coast of Cornwall made up of five main islands that you can only access by ferry or a tiny plane. Here the beaches are empty and everyone scoots around on bicycles. The royals are regulars – Kate Middleton and her family are holidaying there this summer.

Staycations in Cornwall are spent kayaking, surfing and body-boarding in water so clear you’ll think it’s the Caribbean. You can find ramshackle lobster shacks for the freshest, just-caught fish, swim with seals (keep an eye out for soaring dolphins too) and tuck into cones piled high with Cornwall’s famous clotted cream ice-cream.

In celebration of our favourite British seaside destination in the country, we’ve rounded up the best Airbnbs that Cornwall has to offer. Whether that’s staying in an old fisherman’s cottage in a bustling seaside village or nesting down in a romantic shepherd’s hut hidden in Cornwall’s luscious countryside, there are so many self-catering options you’ll totally love…
