Meryl Streep played the icy Editor-In-Chief Miranda Priestly in the 2006 favorite The Devil Wears Prada.

But now someone new will be stepping into her designer shoes.

Tony winner Beth Leaval has been cast as the lead of the Elton John-produced musical adaptation of the film.

‘I am so thrilled that Beth Leavel, one of the American theater’s great leading artists, will be playing one of the most powerful and feared women in popular culture,’ producer Kevin McCollom said in a statement.

‘Producing The Drowsy Chaperone and seeing Beth win the Tony Award for her performance was a career highlight for me and I know that she will create a brilliant Miranda.’

Interestingly, this is the second time Leavel and Streep have played the same part.

Streep is currently attached to a Netflix adaptation of The Prom, where she’ll play the same role that Leavel played on Broadway last year.
