The Circle fans left gobsmacked as Paddy Smyth wins Channel 4 show

The Circle fans were left stunned as Paddy Smyth won the Channel 4 show on Friday night.

The disabled social media activist beat Tim Wilson, Woody Cook, Georgina Aurelia Elliot, and ‘Sammie’ (James Doran) to take home the crown.

After placing their last ratings of each other, the contestants finally met each other face-to-face for the first time.

This saw ‘Sammie’ come clean as catfish James to his other housemates.

The result of the votes was then finally revealed with Paddy, 31, crowned the champ by host Emma Willis.

Tim was the Viewer’s Champion

He looked overwhelmed when the result was announced.

Paddy told Emma: “I never thought I’d make it past the beginning, especially as I came in as a late player.

“I came in with such insecurities and that circle accepted me.”

Paddy took home the £70,000 prize, meanwhile Tim won £30,000 as he was crowned the Viewers’ Champion.

Zoe Ball’s son Woody came fifth

Zoe Ball and Fatboy Slim’s son Woody finished in fifth place, followed by Tim in fourth and catfisher Sammie in third.

Georgina meanwhile came second.

The results certainly stunned fans at home though.

One viewer tweeted: “I’ve stayed up past my bedtime every night for the last three weeks for Paddy to win The Circle? Are you kidding on?”

While another added: “Sorry, Paddy winning the circle is the biggest joke of 2019.”

A third chimed in: “Paddy? Really? Can’t believe woody was fifth and tim was third, robbed.”

However another commented: “Really happy for Paddy. He deserves that winner’s title.”
