1. Preparation is everything

The warmest way to welcome people into your home is with a ‘cheers’, so have the glasses prepped and the bottles open ready to greet your guests. Lay out your cutlery, set the plates and assemble your centerpiece well in advance, allowing you to enjoy the festivities too!

2. Make a statement

Making the table the central focal point, is the perfect way to bring people together. The centerpiece of the table doesn’t have to be dramatic to create an impact – in fact less is more. Drying orange slices in the oven is a simple and stylish way to add that festive touch to your table, team with scattered foliage and candles sticks for s simple yet impactful table.

3. Details

Perfecting the smaller details such as adding fresh flowers and scented candles in your home will help set the atmosphere and create a memorable night for everyone. For the table setting, pair together traditional silverware, tealights and candlesticks for a simple yet elegant look. Or why not go for brass and gold toned metal accents, this reflects the warm candle lights beautifully and creates a cosy glow

4. Table linen

However big your New Years’ dinner may be, simple table linen helps to create a crisp base for your tableware to take centre stage. Go for a classic white for an elegant sophisticated look, or if you’re after a more contemporary rustic feel, place natural decorations such as fir branches and red winter berries on top of a neutral beige or grey washed linen tablecloth.
