The Chase was back with a celebrity edition this evening as a host of stars put their general knowledge to the test in the hopes of winning the jackpot prize for their respective charities.
Comedian Katherine Ryan, singer and I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! runner-up George Shelley, Coronation Street star Faye Brookes and actor Bobby Davro were all taking part.
Katherine was the first celebrity to face today’s Chaser Jenny Ryan after earning an impressive £8,000 in her cash builder round.
However the comedian didn’t get off to a great start in her head-to-heard round as she answered the first two questions incorrectly.
Bradley Walsh then asked the pair: “In 2014, which singer was named ‘Billboard Woman of the Year?”
Before the presenter finished reading out the options Katherine selected “Beyonce” as her answer leading Bradley to scold the comedian.
“Wait for me to read out all of the answers,” he quipped to which Katherine cheekily replied: “No!”
Unfortunately the correct answer was revealed to be “Taylor Swift” causing a shocked Katherine to ask Jenny if she knew the answer.
“Wait a minute, we’ll find out,” Bradley remarked. “Can I ask you a question?”
“I’ll get it wrong,” Katherine joked.
“Have you ever seen this show?” Bradley quipped to which Katherine joked that the questions he asked on today’s show were different to the ones she had seen before.
Continuing on with the ITV quiz, Bradley mistakenly said: “If she puts Beyonce, you’re out.”
Correcting him, Katherine laughed and reminded him “Taylor Swift” was the correct answer.
“Have you seen the show before Brad?” Jenny cheekily swiped.
Laughing, Bradley lamented: “You’re right it’s me who hasn’t seen the show before.”
Bradley then revealed Jenny had also answered incorrectly with “Beyonce” but it wasn’t enough to beat the Chaser and Katherine failed to make it through to the final.
I’m A Celebrity runner-up George faced Jenny next and secured his spot in the final by adding £4,000 to the jackpot prize fund.
Next to face the Chaser was Coronation Street star Faye who earned £3,000 in her cash builder round but was also beaten by Jenny.
Luckily actor Bobby joined George in the final and added £7,000 to the jackpot prize.
However the pair’s luck ran out as they were beaten by Jenny with 53 seconds to spare.
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
