Spring is bringing in a number of great video game titles to enjoy. If you’re done with the winter releases and looking for some highly anticipated games releasing within the next couple months then we have you covered. In this list we are covering some of the games that we can’t wait to get our hands on.
Devil May Cry 5
- Developer: Capcom
- Publisher: Capcom
- Platforms: PC, XBO
- Release: March 8, 2019
Devil May Cry 5 is one of the few titles currently out right now for the spring releases. This title puts players into the shoes of a few different characters such as Nero who was present in Devil May Cry 4 and we have to say the game is very fluid with its combat, much like the previous installments. In terms of the narrative, the game picks up after the events of Devil May Cry 4 which follows Nero, Dante and a new character named V as the have to deal with a new powerful demonic invasion. We won’t spoil too much here and we suggest checking out our Before You Buy episode upload on the game posted above.
Tom Clancy’s: The Division 2
- Developer: Massive Entertainment
- Publisher: Ubisoft
- Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO
- Release: March 15, 2019
During Ubisoft’s E3 press conference at E3 2018, we got the unveiling of The Division 2. The video game takes place just months after the events of The Division where disease’s is no longer the main target. Instead, most of America has been cleared from the vital threat but is now under a new civil war. Corrupt government officials have left innocent civilians in a panic for their lives leaving agents within The Division to bring order back to the nation.
There is plenty of action packed into the video game as players gun down the enemy threats, however, what may be most appealing to fans of non-stop action is the introduction to a Raids component. Again much like Devil May Cry 5 you can pick up a copy of the game right now. Likewise, you can check out our Before You Buy upload up above.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

- Release: March 22, 2019
FromSoftware, known best for their Souls series, has a brand new upcoming title known as Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. This is a third-person RPG title with brutal samurai-style swordplay. So far we know that the game will have players take the role of a shinobi who finds his lord was kidnapped. During the scuffle, our protagonist was left battered along with his arm severed.
Thanks to a busshi our shinobi manages to keep his life. In place of his missing arm is a prosthetic that players will be able to equip different gadgets and tools to use again enemies. While the developers FromSoftware may be best known for their Souls series lately, it appears that the Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be a bit different.
This game will also rely less on players chipping away against an enemy’s health in order to defeat the foe. Instead, the game may be a bit faster with katana attacks offering players the chance to land a blow that will instantly kill the enemy.
Tropico 6
- Developer: Limbic Entertainment
- Publisher: Kalypso Media
- Platform: PC, PS4, XBO
- Release: 2018
The Tropico series is well-known with the sixth main installment launching at some point this year. Players will handle the role of a political president that must bring his country through the hard times it’s currently in. With social unrest and a turmoil over the political outlook, maintaining order and bringing the country together will bring players a challenging task as they attempt to win the citizen’s favor. We know that players will be taking the role of El Presidente within the Caribbean island nation of Tropico where players will control the lands over the course of four eras. One of the new elements being introduced to the franchise is controlling an archipelago of islands where players can build bridges and connect the islands together. Likewise, AI will be tweaked even further which means that if players make a decision that is unfavorable to the citizens then that may cause a shift in productivity to even dealing with revolts.
Yoshi’s Crafted World
- Developer: Good-Feel
- Publisher: Nintendo
- Platforms: NS
- Release: 2019
Yoshi’s Crafted World was teased for a short while now and it appears that we’re going to see this game release into the market for the Nintendo Switch within the Spring season of 2019. For those unfamiliar with the game, this is a brand new Yoshi title that still contains the side-scrolling platforming gameplay that the franchise is known for. Similar to the Paper Mario series, Yoshi’s Crafted World will see our favorite dinosaur fighting off Shy Guys and other hostilities in a construction paper style world.
Within this game, players will still have to swallow enemies and turn them to eggs in order to destroy them but there’s one slight unique twist into this installment. This game will have players go through levels twice where Yoshi can flip the level world around revealing a whole different side full of other puzzles and collectibles that were previously unavailable or only capable of being solved by viewing the level from a particular viewpoint.

Mortal Kombat is a staple to the fighting genre with so many titles flooding the market across generations of platforms. In a surprise reveal at The Game Awards 2018 we got our first announcement that developers over at NetherRealm Studios are working on the eleventh main installment to the Mortal Kombat franchise. We don’t know very much at all regarding this game other than what was shown off during the first reveal trailer.
Within the trailer we saw Scorpion and Raiden battling and it looks like there will be some time element at play when a female character was shown next to a reverse flowing hourglass. For those who pre-order the game, you will receive access to Shao Kahn as a bonus character but we imagine that the developers have character packs readily available throughout the game’s launch serving as additional past Mortal Kombat characters to other franchise crossovers much like their previous release, Mortal Kombat X.

Super Meat Boy Forever
- Developer: Team Meat
- Publisher: Team Meat
- Platforms: NS, PS4, XBO, PC, Mobo
- Release: April 2019
It would be hard to imagine running into a gamer who hasn’t played or at the very least, heard of Super Meat Boy. The video game was a massive success and a challenging platform title by indie developers Team Meat.
What was originally meant to be a mobile-only version of Super Meat Boy has gradually turned into a full-fledged sequel. Super Meat Boy Forever will once again have players going through dangerous obstacles, but this time, Meta Boy and Bandage Girl must work together.
In the narrative, Super Meat Boy Forever tells the story of Dr. Fetus who has managed to kidnap Meat Boy and Bandage Girl’s child, Nugget. While the platforming mechanics are present, there are some slight gameplay mechanic overhauls made for the upcoming sequel as well such as adding a combat system.
Rage 2
- Developer: Avalanche Studios, id Software
- Publishers: Bethesda Softworks
- Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO
- Release: May 14, 2019
Rage is back with a brand new installment. Rage 2 will toss players into the role of Walker who is the last ranger. It’s your job to survive in this dangerous world after mutants flooded the world thanks to an otherworldly asteroid struck the surface. We also know that thirty years have passed since the events of the first Rage so you can expect to see a few familiar characters.
This is still a brutal FPS with an open world for players to explore, though information is still a bit scarce on the title. However, in past interviews about the game, Tim Willits, id Software a co-developer working on Rage 2, has stated that the developers are revamping the overall game with a better overall story, vehicles, characters and of course weapons.
For now, we’ll have to wait and see what information is slowly unveiled for this upcoming title but it already has us interested in checking the game out when it launches.
From the gameplay footage so far revealed for Rage 2 it appears that this game is still very action-packed. Players will be facing against a wide range of hostiles. There are also a few new weapons being tossed in such as a spear that can track down enemies for players to send out and eliminate which should add an extra bit of strategy during the chaotic firefights.
The Walking Dead: The Final Season
- Developer: Telltale Games, Skybound Games
- Publisher: Telltale Games, Skybound Games
- Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO, NS
- Release: March 26, 2019
The Walking Dead: The Final Season came out quite awhile ago but the last episode of the game is set to launch on March 26, 2019. This title almost didn’t come out fully as midway into the video game development, Telltale Games closed its doors and this installment was left in limbo. Luckily, Skybound Games stepped up and brought out the final episodes of the game. As the name suggests, this is meant to be the closing season of The Walking Dead for the protagonist throughout the series, Clementine. If you have to enjoy the past titles then we highly recommend going back and checking this franchise out.
