The best AW19 fashion campaigns

As the new season rolls around, the fashion houses are sitting and waiting patiently for summer to end, for the sundresses to be returned to the back of the wardrobe and for autumn to launch into full swing.

But as they wait, the houses have started to tease the new season ahead, with glorious knitwear, sharp tailoring and the banishment of a bare leg.

We’ve rounded up our top picks of the AW19 campaigns, letting you slowly come to terms with the fact that summer will soon be drawing to a close.

Alexander McQueen AW19 (Courtesy of Alexander McQueen)

Kate Moss takes centre stage for the brand’s AW19 collection, wearing Sarah Burton’s fantastic creations. Photographed by Jamie Hawkesworth, the locations of the campaign switch between English garden to industrial paper reams. Juxtaposing and fantastic.

Michael Kors

Michael Kors AW19

For the brand’s AW19 series of shots, Michael Kors has recruited Dutch model Rianne van Rompaey. Captured by Inez & Vinoodh, the scene is set in a lavishly draped New York mansion.

Vivienne Westwood

Vivienne Westwood AW19

Vivienne Westwood takes to the most brutalist section of London for the new campaign. Shot with the backdrop of The Barbican, Dame Vivienne and her partner Andreas Kronthaler (alongside former ES star Duckie Thot) are captured by Juergen Teller. Brutalist, yet brilliant.

Giorgio Armani

Giorgio Armani AW19

Kate crops up again in her first time fronting Italian powerhouse Giorgio Armani. Shot by Mert & Marcus for the AW19 campaign, a blonde power bob has replaced Moss’ usual hair to create an image even more striking than usual. It’s bold, and we like it.

Gucci AW19

Gucci has once again pulled out all the stops for its AW19 extravaganza – and we wouldn’t expect anything less. Telling the throwback story of a Gucci show in days gone by, expect bouffant hair, chintz galore and a series of iconic looks. Oh, and an Old English Sheepdog.

Fendi AW19

With the launch of the Fendi Baguette for men, the brand has created a scrapbook approach to its AW19 campaign. Shot in Rome under the creative direction of Silvia Venturini Fendi and the art direction of Nico Vascellari, the images echo Lagerfeld’s signature touches beautifully.

Givenchy

Givenchy AW19

It’s the crossover we never knew we needed. Ariana Grande has teamed up with Givenchy to bring us #ARIVENCHY, in portraits shot by Craig McDean. With signature ponytail in tow and Eden bag sitting safely in the crook of her arm, expect to see this collaboration pretty much everywhere this season.
