Who is Tracie Bennett?

Tracie Bennett was born on June 17, 1961, and trained to become an actress at the prestigious Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts.

The Tony-nominated stage and screen actress made her debut in 1981.

The Lancashire actress made a name for herself on the big screen after starring in Shirley Valentine in 1989.

She then conquered the world of television through her roles in Casualty and Doctors among many others.

The 57-year-old also won two Olivier awards for Best Supporting Role in a Musical for her part in both She Loves Me and Hairspray.

Tracie has also received numerous nominations for her theatrical performances in productions such as High Society, End of the Rainbow, Mrs Henderson Presents and Follies.

The actress is not married.

Who did Tracie Bennett play in Coronation Street?

Tracie famously appeared in Coronation Street from 1982-1984, playing Sharon Bentley (née Gaskell).

She eventually returning to the role in 1999 and her last appearing episode was in November of the same year.

Her character famously jilted Ian Bentley on her wedding day after finding out he had been having an affair. However, the pair did eventually get married.

As of 2019, Rita Fairclough (played by Barbara Knox) is not in contact with Sharon and is not sure of her whereabouts.

Does Tracie Bennett play Margaret Foley in The Bay?

The Bay is s six-part drama on ITV that was filmed around Morecambe and the Manchester area.

The drama follows Detective Sergeant Lisa Armstrong’s latest missing persons investigation.

Margaret Foley is the grandmother of missing twins Dylan and Holly Meredith.

She remains tight-lipped when DS Lisa Armstrong presses her about the reality of the Merediths’ home life.

What time is The Bay’s final episode airing?

The Bay will end with its sixth episode on TONIGHT (April 24, 2019).

As normal, the episode will air during its usual 9 pm time slot.

If you happen to miss it, catch it again on ITV Hub or ITV+1.

With it being the final episode of the series, ITV has yet to announce on potential plans to renew the show for a second run.
