The Bay season two could be coming soon after the end of The Bay last night (Wednesday, April 24) set up Lisa fighting to get back on the force. ITV has not revealed whether there will be another series of The Bay, but some cast members have said they would be interested in returning. Will there be another series of The Bay?
The Bay season two has not been confirmed by ITV yet.
However, at an event attended by Express.co.uk, a number of cast members expressed an interest in returning to Morecambe for another series of The Bay.
Morven Christie joked: “I’d love to do another one… assuming Lisa didn’t [kill Dylan]!”
She later added: “Who knows. I loved playing her, loved the accent, loved the crew.”
However, she also clarified that whether she would come back for more would depend on the quality of the scripts.
The A Word actress said: “It becomes about maintaining the quality or upping the quality.”
If The Bay does come back, however, it seems it will be without the Merediths, the family of the dead teenager Dylan who is at the heart of season one of The Bay.
Cresswell and Armstrong, who played Meredith mother and father Jess and Sean doubted they would return.
The former said: “I doubt we’d come back, I think our stories have come and gone.”
The latter added: “I think our stories have come to their final conclusion.”
What will happen in The Bay season 2?
Previously, producer Catherine Oldfield has said that she could see The Bay running for as many as six seasons on ITV.
The Bay writer Daragh Carville told Lancashire Life that if there is a new series it will see: “A new case and therefore a new family.
However, he added the series: “Would still follow Lisa as a central character.”
This suggests that Lisa will return to the police after her suspension from the force for hiding evidence in episode five of The Bay.
Carville also revealed the series would return to Morecambe as a location for The Bay season two.
He said: “That would be brilliant because I do think Morecambe has a lot to offer.”
However, there have been no details revealed about what this crime or this family would be.
