The Bachelor‘s Megan Marx, 30, has admitted she feels guilty enjoying herself while Australia’s devastating bushfires continue to ravage the country. 

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the reality star reflected on the bushfires, which have killed at least 25 people and destroyed six million hectares of land, writing: ‘Who’s feeing the ‘bushfire guilt? ‘I’m hearing it everywhere, I’m feeling it in myself.’

‘Feelings are layered with contradictions, and it’s hard to know if it’s ‘right’ to enjoy ourselves, have fun, talk about things that aren’t related to the terror in Australia,’ the glamour mode continued.

Megan insisted that, while people shouldn’t ignore the crisis unfolding across the nation, there’s no shame in feeling bad about enjoying life either. 

‘I just want to put a little note out there – that you are allowed the feel happiness, too. We need joy and happiness and love, too, even if it’s mixed with grief,’ she wrote.  

She added: ‘Today I went to the beach and came out looking like a triumphant drowned rat. It was nice.’

Megan’s post was accompanied by a photo of herself staring forlornly into the camera in the front eat of her car. 

The blonde appeared to be makeup-free and her hair was slicked down with water, suggesting that she had just returned from her trip to the beach.  

Meanwhile, fundraising efforts have ramped up as Australia’s plea for help is heard across the globe.

Celebrities such as Nicole Kidman, Selena Gomez, Chris Hemsworth, Rebel Wilson and Dacre Montgomery have all pitched in to donate thousands of dollars to the appeal. 

The largest reported celebrity donation has come from James Packer, who on Tuesday pledged $5million to firefighters and wildlife organisations.

Australian comedian Celeste Barber has also raised more than $40 million to help victims and is urging others to do what they can to help.
