The Apprentice 2018 winner lifts lid on how long contestants take to get ready

Sian Gabbidon reigned victorious in last year’s series of The Apprentice, pipping nut milk manufacturer Camilla Ainsworth, to the top spot.

The Leeds-born beauty managed to bag Lord Sugar’s £250,000 investment for her Sian Marie Fashion swimwear range.

Sian impressed the business tycoon with her calm composure and impressive design skills, which she was able to put to good use in a number of tasks.

As a whole batch of new contestants get set to head to the boardroom for The Apprentice 2020 series, Sian, 25, spoke exclusively to Daily Star Online about what it’s really like to take part on the cutthroat business reality show.

One of the biggest things that perplexes Apprentice viewers every year, is how quickly the contestants take to get ready in the morning.

Despite regularly getting 5am alarm calls and sometimes given just 15 minutes to get ready, many fans of the programme wonder how the women are able to look so uber glam and the men look ultra dapper.

This has led many viewers to speculate if the alarm calls are actually genuine and the stars of the show are actually given a lot more time to get ready.

Sian, who always looked like the ultimate glamourpuss on the show, cleared things up about whether contestants are allowed extra time to get read to Daily Star Online.

She said: “It’s so funny because everyone asks me that now, like, ‘Is that real?’

“It’s 100% real.

“Literally, you have like five minutes to get ready.”

She continued: “But at first it was really tough.

“Especially for girls – putting your eyelashes on or whatever it was – but I think towards the end I kind of knew what was happening, so I was like, ‘I’m prepared now’.”

Sian added: “‘Like I’ve only got five minutes, so I’m going to get up, do my hair, do this do that, but I’m not that high maintenance really so I didn’t use that much time up.

“But I had my outfits prepped the night before.”

Sian, who recently added apparel to her swimwear collection, will be hosting a podcast during this year’s run of The Apprentice.

The show, aptly called The Wake Up Call, will see Sian speak to a number of celebrity guests about their thoughts on the latest episodes of The Apprentice.
