Fans of The Affair are already eager to know what’s to come on the show as the final series of the hit drama plays out. The Showtime programme is hinting at a possible reunion between central couple Noah Solloway (played by Dominic West) and his ex-wife Helen Butler (Maura Tierney). However, the road to reconciliation looks like a rocky one for the pair.
What will happen in The Affair season 5, episode 4?

The next episode of The Affair will be hitting screens in America on Showtime on Sunday, September 15.
Sky Atlantic will be broadcasting the episode a couple of days later in the UK on Tuesday, September 17 at 9pm.
There are a total of 11 episodes in the fifth and final series of the show.
Ahead of next week’s episode of The Affair, US network Showtime has released a short synopsis for the forthcoming instalment.

The summary reads: “Noah, Margaret (Kathleen Chalfant) and Stacey (Abigail Dylan Harrison) bond over their mutual distaste for Sasha (Claes Bang).
“Noah attempts to sabotage Helen (Maura Tierney) and Sasha’s relationship.
“Whitney (Julia Goldani Telles) and Colin (Max Fowler) face the hardships of their relationship. Joanie (Anna Paquin) visits the graveyard.”
Along with the blurb, there’s also a teaser promo giving a small glimpse of what’s to come.

The trailer starts with Noah seeing his daughter Stacey, who tells him it’s Halloween.
“Is it? I forgot,” Noah tells her as he hugs the child while Margaret scathingly remarks: “Shocker” as she cooks something of the stove.
The promo cuts to Noah talking to someone off-camera, who asks him: “What is the one thing that is going to get your wife to get into bed with Sasha Mann?”
Noah looks horrified despite already knowing about a romance between Helen and the film star.
But before there’s any time for introspection, we see Whitney Solloway coming face-to-face with a former flame in the form of Fukat (Jonathan Cake).

“Look at you, doll face. You look just like Cinderella,” the photographer says by way of greeting.
In the following shot, the pair seem to be getting up close and person albeit with hostility.
Furkat has Whitney questioning her future and her upcoming wedding as she appears to be teary.
With Furkat causing problems, Noah is heard yelling out: “I’m her father! I’m staying here in case she needs me.”
“There you are Noah,” Margaret pithily tells him, adding: “Welcome back.”
The Affair airs on Showtime in the US on Sundays and on Sky Atlantic in the UK on Tuesdays at 9pm
