The 4 major fashion launches you *need* to know about this month

The fashion pack goes back to school for the shows in September but it’s November that gets the style set properly excited. This is the month when the season the year’s most important collaborations and collections drop in store. Pens at the ready to mark your diaries…

Current/Elliott x The Vampire’s Wife

As one of our favourite West Coast-based denim brands, Current/Elliott have a way with laid back washes and the most flattering cuts. They’re also one of the most fashion forward brands out there, having previous collaborations with Marni and Mary Katrantzou under their belts. This month is the turn of The Vampire’s Wife, the cult dress label designed by Susie Cave and worn by Kate Moss, Florence Welch, Alexa Chung, Jennifer Aniston, Sienna Miller… (shall we go on?) and beloved for its modest silhouette.

GLAMOUR got a preview in Paris last month and fell for the black leather ‘Mini Kate’ dress – which would look incredible with jewel toned velvet platforms – and also comes in denim. The 10-item capsule is all inspired by Cher’s 1970s wardrobe and includes the ultimate high-waist, wide leg jeans too. Wear them with a silky blouse and platforms and your party season outfit is sorted.

Giambattista Valli x H&M

This is the big one – every year H&M collaborates with an ultra-desirable designer… From Moschino, Maison Martin Margiela, Isabel Marant, Erdem and Versace the queues at the stores start the night before and send those unable to visit in person on a refresh-refresh-refresh session on line. Giambattista Valli’s dream-like dresses are sure to inspire similar frenzy. We are obsessed with the opulent red tulle gown (worn by Kendall Jenner in the campaign video) and the exquisite embroidery on the black full skirted dress but keep an eye out for the white bow-covered shell top, faux-fur jacket and sequin and flower beaded mini-skirt which will be easier to incorporate into your wardrobe. 12 Days of Christmas Dresses at John Lewis

We applaud anything that makes shopping easier, smoother and quicker so the new capsule of festive dresses at John Lewis is celestially sent. Hold up, don’t stop here if you don’t do dresses, because there is a jumpsuit, reworked suit and cosy co-ord in the collection too. With exclusive designs from Finery, Ghost, AllSaints, Warehouse, Jigsaw, Whistles, Reiss, Mint Velvet, Pure Collection, Hush, Toast and Jaeger every occasion and fashion whim is ticked. The AllSaints olive velvet slip dress with lingerie-ish lace trim needs nothing more than black heel strappy sandals and a mini-bag for total Nineties-ness, while the mustard velvet Toast style is versatile enough to work with which tights, chunky boots and a cardi for Boxing Day walks.

Mulberry x Acne

Name an iconic British brand and Mulberry will slip off the tongue pretty quickly. Likewise Acne is known for being the pinnacle of pared back Swedish chic. So what happened when Mulberry met Acne? The “friendship” collaboration sees a chic mash-up of Acne’s signature Musubi bag and Mulberry’s legendary Bayswater, which got a design refresh in 2016 and classics with a twist. We can’t show you any pictures but the three-strap reimagining of the satchel is already on our Christmas wish-list.
