The 100 season six is finally here after eight months of waiting. The 100 is a post-apocalyptic drama based on the novel series of the same name by Kass Morgan. Luckily, The 100 season seven was also confirmed before the sixth season even aired.

When does The 100 season 6, episode 1 start?

The 100 season six, episode one starts tonight (Tuesday, April 30) at 9pm on The CW.

UK fans of The 100 will be able to watch the series on Channel 4’s E4.

Unfortunately, E4 has not yet confirmed a release date for The 100 season six but previous seasons of the show have aired in the UK in May and it is likely the new series will follow suit.

When The 100 does air in the UK, you can watch each episode as it airs live on TV or you can stream each instalment via Channel 4’s streaming service All 4.

Each episode of The 100 will also be available to watch after it has finished airing on All 4.

There are 13 episodes in the new series, each an hour long in length.

Each instalment of The 100 will air weekly in the US and the UK.

THE 100 SEASON 7 RELEASE DATE, CAST, TRAILER, PLOT

What will happen in The 100 season 6?

The 100 is based on Kass Morgan’s novels of the same name but already the series has diverged from the original source material so it is hard to predict what will happen.

Season six will pick up from the season five finale and will take place 125 years in the future on a new planet.

At the end of season five, Monty (played by Christopher Larkin) and Harper (Chelsey Reist) died, leaving Bellamy (Bob Morley) and Clarke (Eliza Taylor) to raise their son Jordan.

On the new planet, Jordan (Shannon Kook) is now an adult.

The survivors of the human race were put into a cryo-sleep, so fans will have to wait and find out tonight to see who else survived.

Speaking to IGN, show creator Jason Rothenberg said about the new season: “Well, the whole story is that they went in search of Eligius III, right? That’s what Monty had spent 20 years of his life trying to crack the code, he finally did and set the course for the planet they went to.

“We will discover much more about that as the season begins next year and ultimately it becomes a, ‘What happened to Eligius III?’ mystery – the answer to which forms the basis for our whole season.”

THE 100 SEASON 6 TRAILER

The first episode of the new series is titled Sanctum and thankfully, The CW has released a short teaser trailer and synopsis to keep fans in suspense.

The synopsis reads: “Still reeling after receiving Monty’s message, a small group goes down to explore the mysterious new planet; several members of Wonkru face the consequences of their decisions.“

The trailer for the first episode of the new season shows members of the Wonkru on the mothership heading towards a new planet.

You can watch the teaser trailer for episode one above.

The CW also released a lengthy four-minute teaser trailer for the new season.

On this new planet, the inhabitants will be suffering from eclipse-induced psychosis.

WILL OCTAVIA BE KILLED OFF?

The trailer begins with Bellamy attacking someone when the two suns align, as Clarke looks on in horror.

A voiceover then says: “There are worse things in this world than eclipse-induced psychosis.”

Another problem on the new planet is the mysterious human-like beings hiding in the woods.

In the new series, Clarke will also be going to find her adoptive daughter, Nightblood Madi (Imogen Tear) who has been captured by new villains.

In the trailer, Clarke says: “My child is out there, so I’m going to get her.”

There are also new cast members in the new series of The 100.

Teen Wolf star, JR Bourne plays Russell, the new love interest of Clarke.

The 100 season 6 starts tonight on The CW
