The Terry Healy Group has announced a £2m investment in the set up and operation of a new skills training academy and energy centre.
The Dalkeith-based building, heating and roofing services company’s new centre will follow energy efficient measures through the Energy Company Obligation (ECO).
The expansion should create a “significant” number of new full-time jobs and indirect employment opportunities within the areas of operation.
The company said the long-term investment represents an opportunity to offer additional training and re-training for existing tradespeople and those looking to up-skill across Scotland.
Managing director Terry Healy said: “I believe there is a significant business and moral case for investment in renewable technologies.
“There is also an immediate requirement for a local training centre that facilitates gas, electric, and renewable training courses for people looking to start a new career in the utility industry or for established professionals wanting to grow their skillset.”
