Teresa Giudice reveals her father reminded husband Joe to obtain US citizenship 'a lot of times'

Teresa Giudice revealed on Watch What Happens Live on Wednesday that Joe Giudice had plenty of reminders from her father to obtain US citizenship.

Joe, 47, has often painted his failure to obtain US citizenship as a thoughtless mistake, something overlooked in the passing of time.

He currently lives in Italy while appealing his permanent deportation, having gone there after spending seven months in a Pennsylvania ICE detention center following his prison sentence.

Teresa’s father, Giacinto Gorga, critiqued Joe’s inaction on Wednesday’s episode of The Real Housewives Of New Jersey.

He told his daughter: ‘I slap your husband. He never did nothing right. He did everything wrong. Six times I told him, ”Go make a citizen.” ”Yeah, Yeah, I’ll go.” He never did. He gotta blame himself.’

Teresa, 47, said Giacinto’s comment related to the fact that every time the family went on vacation, Joe would be in one passport line and the rest of them in another, which held them up.

‘And my father used to tell him, ”Go get your citizenship,” and he’s told him a million times,’ Teresa revealed. ‘My dad really did tell him a lot of times.’

As to the question of whether she should remain married to Joe, Teresa said her father supported ‘whatever makes me happy.’

Andy Cohen, 51, then read a viewer question for Teresa that said, ‘If any of your children wanted to go live with Joe, would you allow it?’

‘Yes, of course,’ said the mom of four.

On Wednesday’s RHONJ, Teresa was shown flirting with her hunky pool contractor Tony, a high school flame, but she told Andy that when they dated, ‘We never did the nasty.’

In a preview of next week’s RHONJ, Teresa’s castmate Margaret Josephs, 52, made a pointed joke at her expense, saying that a friend of theirs didn’t date men who were ‘jailbait.’

The crack was clearly aimed at Teresa, who was rumored to be with a younger man, though she told Andy: ‘I wasn’t pissed. I knew what she was doing. I just wanted her to know that I knew.’

Although still married to Joe, Teresa might feel good about her dating prospects.

In a game called Brag Race, Andy challenged Teresa and Wrap Battle judge Carson Kressley, 50, to hand around a breast implant from Tamra Judge, 52, of The Real Housewives Of Orange County.

When the implant came to them, they were required to brag about themselves, and Teresa said: ‘I have a great ass,’ ‘I am a trendsetter,’ ‘I have great boobs,’ and ‘I have the best abs.’

Throughout the show, she took caller questions, although she sometimes seemed confused about what they were referring to, which Andy suggested was because she didn’t watch RHONJ.

One fan asked Teresa why she told Margaret Josephs, 52, that she wouldn’t let Danielle Staub’s words bother her, when Teresa once pushed Andy because of something Danielle said.

‘That was a long time ago, almost nine years ago, and I’ve grown since then,’ Teresa offered.

Asked how she felt about the fact that former castmate Caroline Manzo, 58, said she missed her on a recent episode of WWHL, Teresa pointed out that Caroline ‘said something else after that.’

‘Then she said you behaved like an ass on the [WWHL] interview,’ Andy admitted, referring to his sit-down with Teresa and Joe in late October.

‘Well, we did have great times, and shame on her for the way it ended up,’ Teresa considered. ‘And she’s the one that went against me… I didn’t go against her.’

Another caller asked Teresa whether she owed her castmate and sister-in-law Melissa Gorga, 40, an apology after giving her a hard time for not defending her against a personal attack.

Melissa had defended her, the caller pointed out, as Teresa looked confused, and said, ‘She should!’ over and over.

‘You were wrong,’ Andy explained, trying to make it clear to Teresa that she should have never faulted Melissa at all. ‘There’s footage to prove you were wrong and she did defend you.’

He turned to the camera and said, ‘She doesn’t watch the show.’

‘I live the show,’ Teresa rejoined, laughing.

‘No, but you weren’t at that taping,’ Andy said through gritted teeth.

‘If I need to apologize to her, I will,’ Teresa rationalized. ‘I have no problem doing that.’

Teresa also shared that she had enjoyed watching Andy kiss Million Dollar Listing star Fredrick Eklund, 42, on the BravoCon WWHL over the weekend.

‘It kinda made me a little excited,’ she said. ‘I kinda got a little wet.’

Bluff City Law actress Caitlin McGee, 31, was behind the bar.

She wrapped things up for the night by asking Teresa to think back to the days when she famously flipped a table at a castmate.

‘Has there been a time since then that you wanted to flip a table and didn’t?’ Caitlin asked her.

‘Watch the season 10 finale,’ Teresa volunteered, hinting at the drama to come.
