The Instagram celebrity, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, saw his reputation publicly disintegrate as famous musicians branded him a “snitch”, condemning him for sharing information with authorities to lesson his own jail time.

The 22 year-old first testified against other members of the gang on 18 September and prosecutors have suggested that he could enter a protection program as a result, the New York Times reported.

His actions may have also threatened his future career, as he has become a punch line and public villain to influential figures in the industry such as Snoop Dogg, Future and Lil Durk.

Mr Hernandez faces a minimum of 47 years in prison after pleading guilty in January to racketeering conspiracy and eight other charges. Earlier this year, he admitted that he helped the gang kill someone to “maintain or increase my own standing in Nine Trey” and claimed that the gang engaged in “shooting at people, robbing people and, at times, drug trafficking.”

Back in November, his lawyer previously attempted to get bail for Hernandez – set at $1 million and to include house arrest and surrendering his passport – but the judge denied it, saying the rapper may still be a danger to the community even if the conditions were met.

Prosecutors agreed to try for a lighter sentence if he cooperated in the sharing of information.

He first became involved with the gang in 2017, and was in court to testify against testify against two of his former confidants, Anthony Ellison, 31, and Aljermiah Mack, 33.

Prosecutors brought a sweeping racketeering and firearms case against the Nine Trey, a prison gang with roots on the Rikers Island jail, in New York, in the 1990s, last year.

Last week, the musician spent hours breaking down the gang’s inner workings for the jury.

‘Snitch’

Snoop Dogg has been one of the biggest critics of Tekashi 6ix9ine, recently claiming Martha Stewart is more impressive than him.

On Monday, he posted a picture on Instagram saying: “As we watch Tekashi 69 (or whatever his name is) snitch on EVERYBODY, I invite you all to remember Martha Stewart snitched on NOT ONE soul during her trial. Baby girl kept it 10 toes down and ate that prison sentence by herself, like the true baddie she is,” the caption read.

“That’s my. M. F. Home girl,” Snoop added as a caption. “solid as a rocc.”

In 2004, Ms Stewart was found guilty of felony charges of conspiracy, obstruction of an agency proceeding, and making false statements to federal investigators, and was sentenced to serve five-months in a correctional facility and a two-year period of supervised release.
