TEEN Mom star Mackenzie McKee shared a lengthy post about ‘forgiveness,’ admitting that she felt ‘a lot of shame’ in 2021 and resolving to ‘forgive’ after her racism scandal and feud with Cheyenne Floyd.
The MTV star came under fire after she used a slur to refer to Vice President Kamala Harris.
Mackenzie shared a photo of herself throwing one arm in the air, smiling toward the sky.
In the caption, she reflected on the past year, and shared her resolutions for 2022.
She wrote: “I am so excited about the year of 2022.
“Excited to see what God has in store for me. here are some changes I’m making to bring me more joy in my day to day life.
“1. Never partake in Gossip about someone else. I am human and a sinner just as they are. Who am I to speak badly about anyone. I won’t even be clicking on any article that involves gossip about anyone. It’s never brought me joy.
“2. Forgiveness. Forgive others, and forgive myself. Move forward and always strive to do better. I lived with a lot of guilt and shame. no more. People will ALWAYS remember your past. You can choose to move forward.
“This will allow me to find more joy and become the best version of myself.
“3. Put my phone down more. And feel the love I have in front of me. My kids, husband, and friends and family are such a huge blessing. Yet here I am erasing the moments with the time spent reading hate comments about myself. That’s not a joyful life.”
She went on: “4. Stop seeking validation from the world and turn to God. I’ve shed tears over literal strangers on the internet who have no earthly clue who I am or what my heart is about. No more.
“5. Grind HARDER THAN EVER! 2022 is MY year and I’m claiming it. I get to wake up and choose happiness, humbleness, kindness, and joy. What a life to live.”
It’s been a challenging year for Mackenzie, who found herself being slammed by trolls online more than once.
Most recently, she faced backlash for singing about husband Josh McKee’s “d**k” in a TikTok video, which also featured son Gannon.
She also had to deal with the fallout from the racism scandal.
Mackenzie’s problems began in January 2021, when she shared her thoughts on the new Vice President on Facebook.
The Teen Mom star spoke negatively about Kamala’s influence on the country, writing: “Sorry, no. There are a lot of amazing women in the world for my daughters to look up to and see as role models.
“Kamala Harris is not one of them.”
She added: “It blows my mind that out of all the amazing colored women in this world, that is the one who is making history.”
Mackenzie received hate from followers who called her “ignorant” and “dumb” over the comment.
She apologized for the comment, and then personally apologized to Cheyenne in a tense phone call.
As a result of her comments, she was left out of the Teen Mom spinoff show, Family Reunion.
She was asked about it by a fan after posting a video set to the song I Am Woman by Emmy Meli.
She captioned the post: “Learn to find your self-worth in how God sees you. He chose YOU for this world.”
Mackenzie added: “Our self-worth is not to be determined by others.”
in the comments, a fans asked about the reunion, sating: “You didn’t got to the Teen Mom family reunion?”
Mackenzie responded, revealing: “I was not invited.”
She later revealed that she was struggling with being left out.
