Taylor Swift’s publicist hits back big time at Kim Kardashian amid ‘self-serving’ claims

Taylor’s PR has waded into the feud with Kim Kardashian

Taylor Swift’s publicist Tree Paine has clapped back big time to Kim Kardashian, after the reality star accused Taylor of ‘self-serving’ amid the coronavirus pandemic as their feud kicked up another notch.

It all hit the fan when the unedited, full, actual footage of Kim’s husband Kanye West calling Taylor about his song Famous was leaked over the weekend.

It‘s a very complicated web, but it centers around Kanye’s use of the word ‘b***h’ to describe Taylor and whether he asked her permission to use the derogatory term. Tay-Tay insists she was never made aware of the line, ‘I made that b***h famous’.

On Monday evening, Taylor broke her silence on the leak and appeared to accuse Kim and Kanye’s camp of ‘editing and manipulating’ the snippets of the phone call which Kim released four years ago.

That prompted Kim to fire back and accuse Taylor of ‘reigniting an old exchange – that at this point in time feels very self-serving’, while still insisting while she only chose to release certain parts of the conversation, she didn’t edit it.

Kim also hit out at Taylor’s long-time publicist Tree, writing: ‘To be clear, the only issue I ever had around the situation was that Taylor lied through her publicist who stated that “Kanye never called to ask for permission…” They clearly spoke so I let you all see that. Nobody ever denied the word “bitch” was used without her permission.’

Well, it seems Kim has fanned the flames here as Tree, who’s worked with Taylor for most of her career, came back firing with her own message and re-sharing her original 2016 statement on the matter.

Seldom publicly commenting on issues such as this, fans were shocked when Tree wrote: ‘I’m Taylor’s publicist and this is my UNEDITED original statement.

‘Btw, when you take parts out, that’s editing. P.S. who did you guys piss off to leak that video?’

Below, her statement read: ‘Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single Famous on her Twitter account.

‘She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message.

‘Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, “I made that b***h famous’.

Fans were incredibly shooketh by the post, as the comments section blew up.

Hours before Kim’s statement, Taylor addressed the leak in her Instagram stories, where she wrote: ‘Instead of answering those who are asking how I feel about the video footage that was leaked, proving I was telling the truth the whole time about that call (you know, the one that was illegally recorded, that somebody edited and manipulated in order to frame me and put me, my family, and fans through hell for the last 4 years)…’

Taylor agreed that there are more important issues going on the world like the coronavirus pandemic.

In her statement, the Shake It Off singer linked back to the World Health Organisation page where fans can make charitable donations amid the coronavirus crisis.

Evidently Kim wasn’t happy with Taylor’s statement as she wrote while she didn’t want to comment ‘I feel I’m left without a choice but to respond because she is actually lying’.

That was when we grabbed our popcorn.

Kim argued that ‘they clearly spoke’ and states that no one denied the word ‘b***h’ was used without Taylor’s permission. Kim says their dispute was about the ‘tone of the conversation’ rather than the words used in the song lyric.

The reality star continued: ‘At the time when they spoke the song had not been fully written yet, but as everyone can see in the video, she manipulated the truth of their actual conversation in her statement when her team said she “declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message.”’

She then insisted: ‘I never edited the footage (another lie) – I only posted a few clips on Snapchat to make my point and the full video that recently leaked doesn’t change the narrative.’

Kim explained that Kanye, 42, has documented his ‘musical journey and process’ with every album and notes Taylor did the same with her recent Netflix documentary Miss Americana.

‘Kanye has documented the making of all of his albums for his personal archive, however has never released any of it for public consumption & the call between the two of them would have remained private or would have gone in the trash had she not lied & forced me to defend him,’ Kim stated.

The businesswoman then vowed: ‘This will be the last time I speak on this because honestly, nobody cares. Sorry to bore you all with this. I know you are all dealing with more serious and important matters.’

But, what we really want to know is, who the heck leaked the video?
