Taylor Swift has shut down conspiracy theories surrounding her upcoming album with a single comment.
Appearing on Hit FM’s Carrie & Tommy on Monday, the 29-year-old pop star was asked about a recent Instagram photo which had piqued the interest of her fans.
In late February, Taylor shared a photo of herself standing behind a white lattice fence on Instagram.

The photo shows Taylor peeking out from behind five holes in the fence, and many immediately assumed the number five held some significance to her new album.
‘WHAT IF there’s 5 holes in the fence and each represents a name. She’s at the center of it so what if it’s just Taylor Swift 2.0?’ commented one fan on Twitter.
But Taylor laughed off the suggestion of a hidden meaning during an interview with the show’s hosts, Carrie Bickmore, 38, and Tommy Little, 34.

And despite her assertion that the holes in the fence don’t really hold any meaning, Taylor’s die-hard fans are still having a hard time wrapping their head around it.

Added another: ‘There were 5 holes in the fence. No one can ever take that away from us ESPECIALLY Taylor Swift.’
