Celebrities took to social media to send their love to Beyoncé on her 40th birthday.

Queen B celebrated the milestone on Saturday, and tributes came flooding in from fans and famous friends across the globe, with everyone desperate to send the icon their love on her big day.

The Single Ladies hitmaker celebrated her B’Day as cover star of Harper’s BAZAAR for September 2021, who also put together a video of wishes from celebrities including Ed Sheeran, Billie Eilish and Oprah Winfrey.

Taylor Swift made an appearance to gush about her longtime friend on her special day.

The songwriter, 31, told her: ‘You have paved the road that every female artist is walking down now.

‘Then the fact you’ve done so with such kindness and such grace, to say I admire you, there is just not a word to describe it.’

Beyoncé and Taylor have publicly supported one another on several occasions since Kanye West stormed the MTV Video Music Awards stage in 2009 to declare: ‘Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time’ when the You Belong With Me singer accepted her award.

Beyoncé then brought Taylor back out on the stage to finish her speech. Taylor later called the gesture ‘so wonderful’ and ‘gracious.’

The Formation hitmaker also recently sent Taylor flowers as a congratulations for becoming the first female artist to win the Grammy for album of the year three times.

Also sending birthday love to Queen Bey was Laverne Cox, who personally thanked Beyoncé for giving her and others ‘permission to be free to embrace all that we are’.

The Emmy nominee, 49, referred to Beyoncé as ‘a blueprint for excellence.’

Kerry Washington also joined in with the video to dote on the ‘gift to this world,’ saying: ‘Thank you for being an inspiration to me, to my kids, to brown skin girls all over the world, to non-brown skin girls all over the world.’

Meanwhile Ed Sheeran recalled his favourite song from the former Destiny’s Child member, singing a snippet of Smash Into You from the hit album I Am… Sasha Fierce.

Elsewhere on social media, friend and collaborator Shakira shared throwback snaps to ‘remember the good times.’

The She Wolf singer, 44, who duetted with Beyoncé in 2006 for earth shattering duet Beautiful Liar, posted a snap from their iconic music video to say she was ‘thinking’ of her on her special day.

The tributes didn’t stop there, as Megan Thee Stallion took to Instagram to share her love for her Savage counterpart, and Jennifer Hudson took to Twitter to celebrate her ‘forever Dreamgirl’.

Beyoncé starred alongside Jennifer, 39, in the 2006 musical romance film.

The Spotlight hitmaker told Beyoncé: ‘Dreamgirls will never leave you! Happy birthday to my forever Dreamgirl and Virgo sister.’

Queen Bey herself used her website to take fans on a trip down memory lane for the occasion.

With an interactive collage of nostalgic snaps, she offered an intimate look into her upbringing, with pictures of everything from her toddler days to getting close to her now husband Jay Z in 1998.

In her Harper’s BAZAAR interview, she said that her wish for the future is ‘to continue to do everything everyone thinks I can’t do’.
