Today, Taylor Swift dropped the title track from her brand new album, Lover, and fans are going wild.

The romantic song harks back to vintage Tay, with sweet acoustic guitars and dreamy, wistful lyrics.

It’s got people super excited for the rest of the album, which is due to be released 23 August.

The album is a collaboration with Jack Antonoff, who’s also worked with the likes of Lorde, and other singles released so far include The Archer and ME!

With just one week to go until the big reveal, here’s everything we know so far.

At present, we don’t have a confirmed tracklist from the album, but we do have a few singles that we know will be included.

Although there was reportedly a leak yesterday, with the full list of tracks appearing on Apple Music, Taylor’s people have yet to say whether this is legit.

Lover featured artists

In ME!, which was the first track released from Lover, Panic! At The Disco frontman Brendon Urie was front and centre with Taylor.

She’s also gone back to her country roots, collaborating with Texan legends The Dixie Chicks on Soon You’ll Get Better.

The rest of the album is all solo, but the video for You Need to Calm Down featured a whole load of cameos, including Adam Lambert, Ellen DeGeneres, the cast of Queer Eye, RuPaul, Ryan Reynolds, and Laverne Cox.

Lover best lyrics and meanings

As is customary for Taylor, there are a whole load of thoughtful lyrics we can pull meaning from, and the already-released songs and videos have had teasers aplenty, too.

The Archer and Cruel Summer were both teased in You Need to Calm Down, and there’s every chance we caught a glimpse of the meaning behind It’s Nice To Have A Friend as well, as Taylor and Katy Perry reunited dressed in burger and fries costumes.

Cornelia Street is reportedly about the street in Manhattan where Taylor rented a new apartment when she was first dating Joe Alwyn and includes the lyrics: ‘If I ever lose you I’ll never walk Cornelia Street again.’

Paper Rings has been considered a love letter to Joe, and is rumoured to be about marriage.

The lyrics in Lover, ‘my heart’s been borrowed and yours has been blue’ has been speculated on by fans, with some thinking that this is also an allusion to ‘something borrowed, something blue’ and weddings.

Only a snippet of The Man has been released in a Vogue interview, with part of it going: ‘I’d be a fearless leader, I’d be an alpha type. When everyone believes you, What’s that like?’ Could this be a Kanye dig, or simply just about men in general? Tay said when talking about its meaning: ‘It’s a thought experiment of sorts: “If I had made all the same choices, all the same mistakes, all the same accomplishments, how would it read?”‘

Lover is released 23 August.
