Taylor Swift just announced her next major concert – here’s where it is

One day before her new album “Lover” arrives on Aug. 23, Taylor Swift will treat lucky fans to a special New York City morning.

Swift appeared on “Good Morning America” on Wednesday morning via video message to announce that she will perform live on the show with a concert in Central Park on Aug. 22, celebrating the release of her seventh studio album the next day.

Ticket information has not yet been released.

Swift is a longtime friend of “GMA,” giving the show a tour of her favorite Nashville spots in a segment in April. The 29-year-old singer has also performed several times on the show, including a special ticketed show in Times Square to support her “1989” album in 2014.

Since announcing her new album and releasing the songs “Me,” “You Need to Calm Down” and “The Archer” this spring/summer, Swift has played a number of live shows to support her new music, most recently on July 10 in New York for Amazon’s Prime Day concert.

Swift gave fans “a glimpse into another side of the album” with the release of the more conteplative track “The Archer” last week, which showed her reuniting with her longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff, who produced the track and worked on several of Swift’s previous albums.

Swift revealed that “The Archer” would be track five on her new album, a placement she said she traditionally reserved for “very vulnerable, personal, honest, emotional (songs)” on her past releases.

Beyond her new music, Swift’s feud with Scooter Braun has quieted down, after she accused him in June of “incessant, manipulative bullying” following Braun’s acquisition of Swift’s former record label, Big Machine Label Group – and by extension, the masters of Swift’s hits.

In a lengthy Tumblr post, Swift called the deal her “worst case scenario,” prompting an industry-wide scandal. Braun, recently speaking to Billboard, described meeting Swift for the first time when his client Justin Bieber opened for her Fearless tour in 2010, calling the singer “kind” and claiming they “started a friendship.”
