Taylor Swift sent fans into a spin with new single ME last week, and broke all kinds of YouTube records after releasing the colourful video online.
And the 29-year-old has opened up about her eagerly-anticipated comeback – with Panic! At The Disco’s Brendon Urie, revealing she has gone to ‘a lot of effort’ to leave clues for her fans in the clip.
The Shake It Off singer also took a second to praise her ‘very clever’ Swifties for managing to pick up most of the teasers – but hinted there are still more to find.
It’s like a game of musical Pokemon…
During a chat with KIIS 1065’s Kyle & Jackie O, she said: ‘They’ll watch a video, and they’ll watch it 20 times trying to figure out what they’ve missed.
‘That makes it more fun to do that stuff, because if nobody was paying attention and I put like 50 Easter egg clues in the music video, I’d be so bummed out!
‘I’d be like, “Oh, man. That was a lot of effort for nothing”.’
The clip sees Taylor swapping out snakes for butterflies – which could hint that her Reputation era is officially over – and her beloved cats make their music video debut.
And, while she admitted that ‘everything in the video is symbolic of something,’ she said some clues will reveal themselves in due time.
Me! has racked up an incredible 106million views in four days, so it looks like fans are really desperate to find those teasers.
However, Taylor has a lot of work to do in order to get a UK number one in the official charts, coming up against Stormzy’s latest single.
According to the Evening Standard, the rapper’s new song, Vossi Bop, is 530 sales ahead of T-Swizz – which places him at the top for the first time in his career.
Side note: It is a total banger.
But the 25-year-old might not want to hang the bunting up just yet, as Me! is ahead in digital downloads.
It’s going to be a close race to the top spot…
