Taylor Swift has confirmed she is now the proud mother of a third cat, revealing that the little kitten who appeared in her ME! music video will join Meredith Grey and Olivia Benson as part of the Swift family.

Taylor has for years been known as a loyal cat lady, taking Olivia and Meredith on tour with her and including them in her promotional material – including for new single ME! – but she has now taken to Instagram to share a picture of her cuddling with the cat.

‘And then there were three…’ she captioned the super sweet snap.

No word yet on what Taylor has called the kitty but with Meredith and Olivia both named after strong female TV characters, from Greys Anatomy and Law & Order respectively, we can only imagine that the new addition will have a similar name.

Maybe she’ll even co-opt the name Karyn, now that the reputation era is over?

The 29-year-old has been counting down to a mystery release for the past few weeks, with her website being replaced by a ticking clock counting down to 26 April.

While we were baffled as to whether it was new music, a jewellery range or a presidential bid, it turns out it was in fact a new single, a collaboration with Panic! At The Disco’s Brendon Urie called ME!

The upbeat track is a lesson in self-love, with Taylor and Brendon singing: ‘Girl there ain’t no I in team, but you know there is a me, and you can’t spell awesome without me.’

The colourful video, co-directed by Taylor and Dave Meyers, starts off with a snake slithering along the ground which then bursts into butterflies, before Brendon and Taylor argue in French in front of Tay’s cats.

Later as he apologises to her, he offers her flowers and a ring, both of which she ignores, before he gifts her with the kitten.
