Taylor Swift banishes the snakes as she makes comeback with ME! feat Brendon Urie

Taylor Swift is back – and this time, it’s all about her.

The 29-year-old has been counting down to a mystery release for the past few weeks, with her website being replaced by a ticking clock counting down to 26 April.

And while we were baffled as to whether it was new music, a jewellery range or a presidential bid, it turns out it was the former.

Taylor has dropped her brand new song ME!, a collaboration with Panic! At The Disco’s Brendon Urie.

These two love an exclamation mark.

The upbeat track is a lesson in self-love, with Taylor and Brendon singing: ‘Girl there ain’t no I in team, but you know there is a me, and you can’t spell awesome without me.’

The lyrics seem like a bit of a follow-on from Blank Space, with Taylor singing about her dramatic tendencies and going ‘psycho on the phone’, before promising her beau that nobody will love him like her.

The colourful video, co-directed by Taylor and Dave Meyers, starts off with a snake slithering along the ground, alluding to Tay’s last era.

However, the snake then bursts into butterflies, before Brendon and Taylor argue in French in front of Tay’s cats.

Things soon get better for Taylor, though,  who is clearly feeling herself as she floats through clouds in a flower-embellished dress, before switching costumes to wear a yellow pastel suit for a very Broadway dance scene.

Brendan soon flies to his girl via an umbrella, apologising with a kitten, before the pair team up for a 60s dance routine and a toy soldier performance.

And unsurprisingly, Swifties are adoring the track and its MV, with social media flooded with praise for the song.

After Taylor appeared to debut floral merch as she left her New York apartment earlier this week, we predicted that Taylor was shunning her bad girl persona for a softer era – and ME! most definitely confirms that.
