A behind-the-scenes teaser has dropped for the star-studded Cats The Movie and we’re purring (sorry) with excitement.
The first look clip shows Taylor Swift, who plays Bombalurina, in dance rehearsals with Idris Elba, who portrays super-villain Macavity the Mystery Cat.
Jason Derulo, Jennifer Hudson, Rebel Wilson, James Corden, Dame Judi Dench and Sir Ian McKellen also feature in the teaser for the screen adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical.
So just a bunch of rising stars, really. You probably haven’t heard of them.
Swifty, clad in leather shorts and tights, shows off her best feline moves in a routine with Luther star Idris, before talking to the camera about her experience of making the hotly-tipped film.
Taylor, 29, says: ‘My first memories of performing go back to when I was in Pennsylvania growing up.
Meanwhile, James Corden, who signed up last year, can’t stop raving about the ‘digital fur technology’ of the flick, which attempts to make the cast’s characters as feline-like as possible.
The chat show host, who will portray Bustopher Jones, also gushes over the film’s Oscar-winning director, Tom Hooper.
‘I think it could only really be done by a director like Tom Hooper. He understands,’ he says.
The movie, out on December 20, features Lloyd Webber’s original 1981 musical score and is written by Billy Elliott screenwriter Lee Hall. The London revival in 2014 saw Nicole Scherzinger take on the role of Grizabella.
