TAMRON Hall has denied that she dealt drugs as a teen, after claims producers rushed to edit a shock admission from her talk show.
The 49-year-old talk show host said: “I never dealt drugs” in a statement on Thursday to EW.
She was forced to deny the allegation after DailyMail.com claimed that she confessed to viewers she used to “facilitate” selling cocaine when she was a teenager, in a segment which was then cut from her show.
Hall said: “I never dealt drugs. I am now nearly 50 years old and was reflecting on a bad judgement call that could have turned worse.
“I say but for the grace of God, there go I.
“It was part of an open and honest conversation about women, incarceration and mistakes made. For legal reasons a portion of that segment was edited from the show.
“I hope my show can be a forum for sharing stories without shame or judgement, including a conversation we’re having Friday on opioid addiction.”
It was claimed that ABC producers were left scrambling to edit Hall’s talk show after she shocked her studio audience – and network executives – during Tuesday’s taping when she admitted to “facilitating” the sale of the drug with her college boyfriend, according to DailyMail.com’s sources.
Production insiders told DailyMail.com Hall’s admission threw ABC for a loop forcing frantic producers to cut it from the pre-recorded program.
Hall’s return to daytime television came in the shape of the debut of her eponymous show last month.
The former Today show host left NBC in 2017 at the end of her contract when Megyn Kelly received her own hour with the morning show.
She recently became a mother to her son, Moses, after hiding the pregnancy from the public for months until finally revealing the bump in March – just two months before she gave birth.
At the same time, Tamron also informed the public she was married to her music executive husband, Steve Greener.
