Tammy Abraham’s wage demands have caused his contract talks with Chelsea to stall, according to reports.

Chelsea are eager to tie down their star striker to a new long-term deal and have been locked in talks with the Englishman for several months.

Abraham is the club’s top scorer this season with 14 goals, as the 22-year-old has emerged as Chelsea’s first choice striker.

Goal claim Chelsea are prepared to offer Abraham a significant wage amid a stellar season, but there is a disagreement over his salary.

Abraham wants to be paid on parity with Callum Hudson-Odoi, who signed a contract worth £180,000-a-week in September.

Interest from Bayern Munich and in the final year of his then deal, Hudson-Odoi was able to name his price in his talks with Chelsea.

Chelsea want to nail down the futures of all their star youngsters and have already come to agreements with Mason Mount, Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Billy Gilmour.

Abraham still has two-and-a-half years to run on his current contract and negotiations with Chelsea have ground to a halt, for now.

While Chelsea are keen to structure his wages around performance-related bonuses, Abraham feels he should be rewarded like Hudson-Odoi was.

Frank Lampard has placed his faith in Abraham since taking charge during the summer and the goalscorer has flourished under the Chelsea boss.
