Tame Impala announce only UK date for 2020 at All Points East: Tickets and dates

All Points East announces Tame Impala as 2020’s first huge headliner officially this morning. This will be a big exclusive for the spin-off from London’s mighty British Summertime in Hyde Park. It is the only UK date next year for the Australian psych-pop giants, as they continue to build their comeback for their first album since 2015. SCROLL DOWN FOR TICKET INFO AND ON SALE DATE.

The new album The Slow Rush will arrive on Valentine’s Day 2020, ahead of the band’s All Points East debut on May 23, where fans will hear the new songs live for the first time.

It follows their most acclaimed album yet, 2015’s Currents which took the band to global prominence, huge festival stages and dance floors – and won a BRIT Award for Best International Group.

The band’s creator Kevin Parker has become hot property in the industry, sought out for studio collaborations with some of the biggest artists in the world since then – including Mark Ronson, Lady Gaga, Kanye West and Travis Scott.

Parker unveiled a brand new song, It Might Be Time, in October to herald the eagerly-awaited new LP.

The track channels 1970s Supertramp synth melodies via Tame Impala’s familiar psych-pop, perfectly previewing the riches to come and whetting appetites.

Fans, of course, are already hungry for more, and the UK will have a huge treat in store next May.

All Points East has already started to reveals some of the other names who will take the stages at the East London festival.

So far the line up is looking suitably stellar and, as expected, suitably cool and cutting edge.

All Points East 2020 will include Caribou, Glass Animals, Whitney, fellow Australians Rolling Blackout Coastal fever and Holy F.

More names will follow with big surprises promised, but the festival also prides itself on the broad cross-section of music and activities it offers, all in close collaboration with the local community.

Last year, All Points East built on the success of its 2018 debut, bringing huge headliners together with brand new artists, the hottest buzz acts on the planet, multi genre innovators and the Victoria Park community, for 10 magical days of musical and cultural discovery.
