Tamara Ecclestone has given birth to her second child, a baby girl named Serenain Switzerland, her dad Bernie confirmed.

Sharing his delight at his latest grandchild, 89-year-old Bernie Ecclestone told MailOnline: ‘I’m absolutely thrilled to be a grandfather again.

‘Tamara gave birth to a little girl seven days ago in the same hospital that my son Ace was born in.

‘Mother and baby are doing brilliantly. She’s a beautiful little thing. She has named her Serena and both of them have been already out on the town together around Gstaad.’

Bernie and his wife Fabiana Flosi, 44, had their baby son Ace in the summer.

He added that he was looking forward to Serena and Ace playing together as they grow up as the pair will be so close in age.

Tamara, 35, is the daughter of the former F1 boss, and already shares six-year-old daughter Sophia with her husband Jay Rutland, 39.

The couple have been married since 2013, and Tamara revealed last year that Sophia would love a sibling – as long as it was a sister and not a brother.

She told Hello: ‘She’s been talking about how much she wants a sibling, and for the first time I’m open to the idea.

‘She really wants a sister, but certainly not a brother – she’s very girlie and thinks boys are smelly.’

Tamara had kept her pregnancy quiet, not posting photos with her bump visible on social media.

She previously said on Loose Women that she had been ‘mum-shamed’ about breastfeeding.

Tamara explained: ‘It’s annoying that parenting is one of those things that people are just so opinionated on.

‘Everyone’s journey is so different and it’s something you shouldn’t intrude in.

‘Everyone has opinions and everyone is so quick to tell you theirs but I feel you should just take a step back and take direction from your baby and listen to your gut; it’s an instinct that you have.’
