T.I.’s daughter Deyjah Harris has unfollowed her father on social media after he revealed that she has her hymen checked by a doctor every year to ensure she is a virgin.
The rapper, 39, came under fire last week when he said that he books and attends Deyjah’s annual gynecologist appointments to “check her hymen.“
The 18-year-old has yet to publicly address her dad’s statement but many fans were left outraged by his remarks.
However, she has now unfollowed him on Instagram and Twitter.
His comments prompted a flurry of backlash and responses on social media from the likes of Chrissy Teigen, Iggy Azalea, Sharon Osbourne and more A-listers.
Harris recently liked a series of tweets calling his actions “disgusting”, “possessive” and “controlling”.
She then tweeted, in an apparent response to the support: “I loveeeeeee yallllll.”
Speaking to the female-focused podcast Ladies Like Us, T.I. revealed, “Deyjah’s 18, just graduated high school now and she’s attending her first year of college, figuring it out for herself.
“And yes, not only have we had the conversation, we have yearly trips to the gynaecologist to check her hymen.”
He said that he schedules the appointment “right after [her] birthday”, saying, “I put a sticky note on the door: ‘Gyno. Tomorrow. 9.30.’”
He also added that her “hymen is still intact” as of Harris’ birthday.
However, adding to the controversy he confessed he feels differently about his 15-year-old son King who he knows is sexually active.
The entire podcast episode has since been deleted following criticism.

The organisation tweeted: “Idk who needs to hear this but virginity is a made-up social construct, and it has absolutely nothing to do with your hymen.
“A virgin is someone who’s never had sex. But “sex” means different things to different people, so “virginity” does too.
“Many don’t care what it means or think it matters. Whatever you believe, the fact is you can’t tell if someone’s had sex by checking their hymen.”
